Hi all

Now our challenge subject was chosen many weeks ago , and it seems as if many minds think alike as I know it has featured on a couple of other challenges recently, however I hope you still enjoy the challenge

WINGED THINGS

So you can put wings on things, use things that already have wings, whatever the title inspires you to create

The challenge this week is sponsored by  Jennie of The Stamp Connection.

 A few words from Jennie

I started manufacturing rubber stamps about 15 years ago, and now The Stamp Connection manufactures The Artistic Stamper range of unmounted rubber stamps, and Kling-On repositionable cushioning. We have an online shop www.theartisticstamper.com, where you can buy all of our range of stamps and more besides!

Jennie has provided us with this weeks great prize and a set of stamps for the design team, which we all enjoyed using, and know that you will too

Not just the beautiful and really useful butterfly and bugs stamps but Kling-on as well , So you don;t need to rush out to buy some if you have run out, and will get perfect impressions every time.

So here are this weeks design team examples

and our guest designer this week is Hels Sheridan, whos Gothic Arch is stunning,

Hels Sheridan is Creative Design Team Co-Ordinator at The Stamp Connection. Hels is married to Grim and has a fur baby cat called Alfie. Hels works full time as a train driver, so she finds her hobby helps her relax and unwind after a long day at work. She has been crafting for nearly six years now, something that started out as a little hobby has taken over and now is her passion! She loves nothing better than sitting playing with rubber stamps and getting inky and messy. She loves anything to do with Altered Art and says she is always on the look out for new items to alter.

Hels has recently designed a range of stamps called Stitchels, which can be purchased from The Stamp Connection and has a brand new Christmas collection due for release next month. Hels designed this Gothic Arch card using stamps from The Stamp Connection along with Adirondack inkpads and embellishments. She says herself she has a tendency to go for muted colours so this Arch is something a little different from her. To see other examples of Hels’ work you can visit her blog at http://pinkleart.blogspot.com

So thank you Hels for taking the time out of your busy schedule to fit in our challenge great job.

The project this week is a quicky on how to use kling on and scrap rubber to make our own abstract and background stamps, as per the Mosaic background and the Everyone has wings design in the design team examples .  You can find this quicky project  on the project page .

There are also some free papers available for download on a free Downloads page.

Fiona, Susie, and myself will be in the chatroom between 9pm and 10pm tonight Thursday UK time, pop in and have a chat

Winners are chosen by random number generator.

Challenge 6 “The Golden rule” July 24, 2008

Our challenge this week is inspired by a quote from the father of the Arts and crafts movement William Morris, who said  “If you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.”

Now don’t worry we’re not asking you to get rid of your clutter or tidy up, or wonder where you are going to stick your Husband ( only joking) , although you can if you want.

Our CHALLENGE is  attempt to  create something you truly believe is either beautiful or useful If like the design team you find that something did nt quite hit  the mark , we still want to see it.  Its about the journey not the destination . We posted all our examples  even the ones we were not quite happy with.

THIS WEEKS PRIZE :  Moonshadow Mist Set – Brown Label – value £19.99

The set contains 5 spray bottles containing Moonshadow Mists, a combination of walnut ink and mica.  They are 5 different colours that can be mixed and matched.  Instructions included in pack.

Here are the colours you will recieve

Burnished brass, Tawny turqouise, Incandescent copper, Ethereal Emerald, Volacious Violet.

Our great sponsor this week is Jill at The Stamp man who supplied the design team with some amazing products to play with. We had some amazing metal embellishments Egyptian and Buddas  . Gold leaf, Moonglow inks, Starburst stains  , Mists, and some great stamps too, all available from  The stamp man. This weeks examples by the design team. I appologize in advance I again got carried away playing. Its just a shame that the photos really do not do justice to the nature of the starburst stains and moonglow inks. They are magical to work with, and fun

Our Guest designer this week is

Enfys Cashmore – A word or two from Enfys

I live in the West Midlands, and in Hudson, Florida, spending three months at a time in each place. I started cardmaking four years ago, and last year started scrapbooking – mainly of my grandchildren, Kiki age 4 and Max age 1. My first love is cardmaking though, and when I am in the US I go to a scrapping group once a week, where I have made great friends. My favourite tool is my Cricut, with the Cuttlebug coming in as a close runner-up! My blog http://going-buggy.blogspot.com  has been featured in an article in Quick and Crafty magazine, and I have recently started designing for Papercraft Inspirations magazine (look out for Septembers issue!). I am on the design team for the US Bitten by the Bug site, and for Funky Hand in the UK.

I loved using the products, although the word book took forever!

Tracey here .  I love Enfys book, it looks so tactile

We have free downloadable papers again this week, and a quick tutorial on how to create the tiles used in the love 4 squared  on our project page .

Entries need to be in by 6pm on Wednesday next week.

You can show your support of our blog by posting our banner

Here is the HTML

If this comes up as a blank space with a red cross. Please check your html as entered, against original for some reason a couple of people have had extra bits  for example ” appear when they have pasted HTML and I have absoloutly no idea why. Then just remove all the extra characters

We will be in the chatroom from 9pm till 10pm UK time Thursday night, you can come along and ask about our samples or just pop in for a chat . Link in side bar
