Hi all

Before we start with this weeks challenge.  Suzy and myself would like to say goodbye to Fiona who is leaving This Thursday due to time commitments. We have enjoyed working with Fiona and I am sure like us you have appreciated her examples every week,  we hope that she has every success with her business and challenge blog.  You can go to Fionas blog and leave a message http://magickdiva.blogspot.com/ and check out what she will be up to next..

Our good friend Rosie of http://alteredartandstuff.wordpress.com is stepping into Fionas shoes this week, Thanks Rosie your a star, and you will all meet  the new design team member next week. All we will say is we have chosen one of our regular entrants to be our new design team member.  Susie and myself are really pleased that she has agreed to join us, and we know that she will bring a lot of talent to the team.

So this weeks challenge is “Colour is my obsession”  a quote from Monet . So you can work in your favorite colour or colours or just make something really colourful, We will also accept  peices inspired by Monet.  Deadline for all entries is 6pm Wednesday night Uk time

The prize this week is

10 sheets of Digital Collage sheet downloads chosen by the winner from this weeks sponsor Patti from Lisas Altered Art  The team really enjoyed playing around with the digital collage sheets

a few words from Patty

I  have been collecting vintage children’s photos for years now. I have always been drawn to them. When I began collecting I actually had no idea what I would do with them. I just loved having them. I loved visiting antique shops and would literally spend hours flipping through any old photos I found. Some of the images on my collage sheets are not the most beautiful or well dressed children, but for some reason, I found the child familiar, sad, or just in need of a good home.

I spent years as a graphic designer, and have put that experience to good use doing what I love most.   Art.     I started making collage sheets about 4 years ago with my photos and Lisa’s Altered Art (Lisa is my little girl) evolved from there. I still love making my sheets and hope it shows in my work! I hope you will visit  www.lisasalteredart.com
Thank you much!

So here are this weeks design team examples
Our guest designer this week is Maxine Lawson her blog is http://maxscraftcreations.blogspot.com/. Where you can see her wide variety of work. A few words from Max
I have always been interested in crafts and my interests as a young girl included tapestry, needlework, knitting, painting, drawing and everything in between.
I studied and passed ‘O’ Level and ‘Higher’ Art at school and had a fairly impressive portfolio, but for reasons I can’t really remember, I did not pursue it any further.

As an adult my attention switched to crochet and I spent many hours in front of the TV armed with nothing more than a hook and a ball of wool. I’m probably responsible for hundreds of babies and dolls being dressed in the frilly, fluffy baby bonnets decorated with rosebuds and ribbons with matching matinee jackets, hooded capes and shawls. Whoops!

My current passion is papercraft and especially cardmaking, although I did dip my toes into the wonders of scrapbooking, by making a ‘Memory Album’ for my parent’s Golden Wedding Anniversary in January this year.
My likes and dislikes change depending on my mood and I wouldn’t be so bold as to attempt to credit myself with a particular style nor indeed talent. Quite liberating really as it gives me freedom to do whatever I feel like at the time, without worrying about getting bored and whilst I achieve varying degrees of success with the end result, I always enjoy the actual process of creating and that’s what’s important.

Like many crafters, I’m very rarely completely satisfied with my own projects and am constantly seeking to improve. I’m always very grateful to all the talented crafters out there who provide such wonderful inspiration, tips and original ideas which I can mix together and see what happens. I can’t imagine my life without crafting of some kind or other … and will keep creating as long as I’m enjoying the journey

As of this week we are closing the chatroom, I hope the couple of you who have popped in now and again don’t miss it too much. But it hasn’t been that popular and we would rather spend our time working on examples , than sitting in an empty chatroom.
This week there are some free papers , which can be found in our free downloads page
Good luck
Sorry about the text being right to the edge of the box . Not sure why that is happening

Hi Everyone This  weeks challenge is called Bowdacious. so we want you to use ribbons and bows, so use the theme in any way that it inspires you.

This weeks prize is

These 6 amazing selections of beautiful and useful ribbons. What a wonderful selection.

Our sponsor this week is Bea from www.ribbonoasis.co.uk

A few words from Bea

A little about Ribbon Oasis – it all started when I took voluntary redundancy from my job as a Quality Standards Engineer in 2004, I loved card making and loved the floaty organza ribbon but my local craft shops just didn’t have many colours or many metres in stock. In 2005 I approached a manufacturer directly and initially started selling a limited range of organza ribbon only, this soon expanded to stocking all the widths in all the colours. We have grown steadily and last month we moved the business to a 1300 sq ft industrial unit which is now wall to wall ribbon and bows. We stock 53 colours of organza, have access to over 80 colours of grosgrain and over 150 colours of satin. We buy from global sources seasonally so customers get new ribbons to choose from (often ribbons that no one else in the UK stocks) and of course we have lots of yummy decorative ribbons from the World’s leading manufacturers.

We thought a nice selection of our ribbon mixes would be a nice prize for the lucky winner. Good luck

bea also provided the design team with a selection of lilac ribbons to play with and some diamonte sliders Here are the design team examples this week.

Our brilliant guest designer this week is the talented Crissi Harvey you can see crissies blog at www.random-ramblings-of-a-crafter.blogspot.com Here is a little bit about Crissi in her own words

Hi my name is Crissi I have been crafting for many years one way or another but discovered paper crafts about 3/4 yrs ago could be longer time just flys. I love things that are different so also love altered art, mixed media collage, that kind of thing, I have also discovered Blogs WOW there so many talented people out there and there so full of inspiration, and this is how Arty Girlz challenge blog came about which I co run if that the right word with my Best friend Julie.
Thats me summed up i think :-)

A big thanks to Crissi for her brilliant examples and I just adore the noteboard or memo board

Now usually there are some free papers and or a project available, but due to the last two weeks being really really full this week there are no papers and no project , Sorry all but I really really needed to put my feet up for 5 minutes , so I didn’t get time to do either.

Good luck all

Anyway here are the 15 that we have chosen this week, all though we all agree that there are many others that are also our favorites, if you haven’t had time to check out all this weeks entries you really should as I don’t think that there is one entry that dosn’t have something inspiring to share.
